The north of the council meets the protected area of the Setesdals Vesthei (Setesdals Valley Western Moors). The course of the Lygna and its tributaries is the life nerve of the community, both as the largest water – Lygne, approximately 7.3 sq kilometres, in Eiken and as a river running through the entire valley. The county’s lowest point is 125 metres above sea level rising to 966 metres, resulting in a varied and breathtaking landscape. There are fabulous opportunities for hunting, fishing and hiking. Historical sites and burial grounds
dating back to the Viking era are well worth a visit, especially around the Tingvatn water and in the Eiken area.
