Farsund og Listalandet

Farsund has 9500 inhabitants. It has the largest agricultural farmed land in Vest Agder County. This green peninsula consists of two little towns, Vanse and Old Farsund Town, where there is a guest harbour. There are many exciting attractions in the area waiting to be explored and a variety of interesting shops.

The nature is simply stunning. It varies from the open, rugged landscape shaped by the elemental forces and is contrasted by magnificent mountains and sheltered, lush valleys. For those visitors who enjoy the beach life, Farsund offers over 10 kilometres of beautiful sandy beaches. The Lista beaches are some of the finest beaches in the country for water sports. Due to the colourful bird life and rich flora, many beaches are protected.

The cultural landscape is unique. The strong contrast in nature and traces from the early stone ages can still be seen. The municipality has one of Norway’s largest numbers of Viking burial grounds and archaeological sites. There are well prepared nature trails, offering both the experienced and new hiker wonderful opportunities to explore the area by foot. Farsund also has idyllic skerries and beautiful harbours. Public areas with communal barbeques and public restrooms ensure that visitors can fully enjoy the great outdoors. There are many fishing opportunities to be enjoyed, both from dry land and on the water.
